Sandvik 12C27 Stainless Steel

Each blade is crafted from Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel, chosen for its excellent cutting performance and corrosion resistance. The addition of chrome helps protect against corrosion, while a carbon content of at least 0.40% provides a durable, long-lasting cutting edge without requiring special maintenance.

French Beech Wood Handles

The handles are crafted from French beech, the most commonly used wood for Opinel handles. Hard-wearing, durable and easy to work, beech has a naturally refined appearance, with a light colour ranging from warm yellow to soft pink. Its distinctive small dark markings are a natural characteristic of the wood, giving each handle its own individual character.

Virobloc® Safety Ring

Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc® safety ring is a signature feature of Opinel folding knives from N°06 onwards. Made from stainless steel, it features a fixed section and a sliding section, allowing the blade to be securely locked open during use and locked closed for safer transport.
